Artikel mengenai coca-cola dan tanda halal:-
There's halal logo on Coke bottle/can sold in Malaysia. But how can
we certify something is halal when part of the ingredient is trade secret?
Article in Wikipedia on coke formula states that the company confirmed
coca leaves extract are used for flavouring and it's not the secret ingredient!
The secret ingredient is called "Merchandise 7X".Who knows what it is.

After the turn of the century, when federal and state authorities began writing regulations to ban the sale of coca products because of their supposed contamination with the drug cocaine, Coca-Cola lawyers argued strenuously that their syrup contained only a minuscule flavor extract of the coca leaf.

In 1935, a rabbi was called to certify coke as kosher. He discovered that :-
1. Glycerin used are from non-kosher beef tallow. Coke now supposedly replace beef tallow with cottonseed.
However, can we trust them when beef tallow is cheaper than cottonseed?
2. Grain kernel used produce alcohol. Coke agreed to subsitute corn grain with beet or cane sugar for a few weeks
before "passover" celebration every year so that jews can drink coke during the celebration. What happen after
passover?
